Load and fix SAP data in bulk, with the migration tool that fits.
Typing hundreds of lines by hand is not an option. 39 short lessons to use Batch Input, LSMW, SHDB, MASS and Migrate Your Data, and know which one to take for your case.
- 1 Batch Input and SM35
- 2 LSMW: from the file to the load
- 3 SHDB: record and replay
- 4 MASS: change or import in bulk
- 5 Migrate Your Data: simulate, then migrate
Thousands of lines to load, and no guide for choosing the tool.
A new site, a reorganization, a supplier file to correct: sooner or later you have to create or change a lot of records at once, whatever your module.
Endless manual entry
Creating or fixing hundreds of records line by line takes days, and every line is a chance to make a mistake.
Five tools, no guide
Batch Input, LSMW, SHDB, MASS, Migrate Your Data: each has its own use. Without a guide, you choose out of habit, not by fit.
A load you cannot undo
A real migration cannot be undone. You need to simulate first, read the result and spot the error before it reaches the system.
This micro-training takes the tools one by one, on cases shown on screen.
You see each one at work, then you redo the same case on your own system.
Six things you will be able to do on an SAP system.
You do not become a migration project manager: you can use the common migration tools and choose the one that fits your case.
Understand data migration
What a data migration covers, which SAP tools exist, and what most of them rest on: the batch input method.
Run a Batch Input
In SM35, you find the sessions, run them in the processing mode you want and read what succeeded or failed.
Lead an LSMW project
Source structure, relationships, conversion rules, file, conversion, load: you chain the steps, then transfer the project to another system.
Record and replay with SHDB
You record a transaction, build a program from it, prepare the source file and run the processing.
Change or import with MASS
Through tables, through fields, from a file or the clipboard: you choose the route that takes the least effort.
Migrate with Migrate Your Data
Migration project, template to fill in, mapping, simulation, then the real migration: you know the path and its checkpoints.
We would rather tell you honestly who it is for, and who it is not for.
This is a tools course, centered on practice on screen. Check that it matches what you are looking for before you click.
This micro-training is for you if…
- You are a key user and you have to create or fix a lot of records at once.
- You are an SAP consultant, whatever your module, and you want to know the common migration tools.
- You are joining a migration project and want to understand what LSMW, SHDB, MASS and Migrate Your Data do.
- You have never run a mass load: the course starts from the definition of Batch Input.
- You want a more complete SAP profile: these tools are waiting for you in every module.
This micro-training is not for you if…
- You already run full migrations day to day: the course presents the tools and does not go further.
- You are looking for a migration project plan (data cleansing, schedule, cutover): here, you learn to use the tools, not to scope a project.
- You have no access to an SAP system where these tools are open to your profile: the course shows everything on screen, but no system is provided.
- You want a complete SAP path, beyond data migration: look at the Expert Training Center instead.
Eight chapters, thirty-nine lessons, from the first load to choosing your tool.
Each lesson opens with a short video. It is followed by an illustrated text (menu paths, step-by-step screens, diagrams, tables) that sums up what matters and flags the traps, then by a three-question quiz.
The goal of this micro-training
Start from a data file and end with a successful load into the system, using a tool you can justify. Scoping a complete migration project is not the goal here.
01 Introduction 3 lessons · 4 min +
02 Batch Input 3 lessons · 12 min +
03 LSMW 9 lessons · 1 h 17 +
04 SHDB 6 lessons · 1 h 32 +
05 MASS 7 lessons · 58 min +
06 Migrate Your Data 7 lessons · 29 min +
07 Exercise 3 lessons · 33 min +
08 Conclusion 1 lesson · 1 min +
Three simple principles, applied to every lesson.
You watch, then you redo it
The video shows the step on an SAP system. The text below goes over the transactions, screens and values from the video, so you can redo it yourself without scrubbing back.
The traps are written down
A badly formatted file, a processing mode picked too fast, a migration run without a simulation: each trap is flagged right where you run into it.
You check what you understood
Three questions at the end of each lesson. You know right away whether you can move on, or whether a point is worth another look.
Pierre teaches every lesson.

Pierre Balbinot
SAP consultant certified in PP and EAM · co-founder of Key User Training
Pierre is an engineer by training and an SAP functional consultant, certified in PP and EAM, with MES expertise. He is an SAP project manager at Vossloh, in the rail industry, and has been through several S/4HANA migrations on the client side.
He is the voice in the videos. He opens every transaction on screen and takes each tool all the way through, from the file to the result in the system.
What our learners say about Key User Training.
A leap forward in my SAP practice
Already an SAP user across several modules for a few years, the Key User Training team really helped me take a leap forward and genuinely moved my SAP practice ahead. The professionalism and availability of the trainers are their main strengths.
Structured, progressive, concrete
Key User trainings take you by the hand. They are structured, progressive and combine theory with practice through demonstrations based on concrete situations encountered every day in companies.
Five trainings, same clear structure
Five trainings already with Key User Training. It is really the same structure whatever the course: theory and practice through concrete situations. The big plus is the responsiveness, the trainers getting back to you on questions or difficulties.
A complete path, to come back to when a load shows up.
You go through the course once, end to end, then come back to a tool the day you have to load or fix data.
SAP Data Migration micro-training
Load or fix SAP data in bulk with Batch Input, LSMW, SHDB, MASS and Migrate Your Data.
Batch Input and SM35, LSMW, SHDB, MASS, Migrate Your Data, an end-to-end exercise and the choice of tool, in short lessons you follow at your own pace.
14-day money-back guarantee
If the micro-training isn't right for you, just send us an email within 14 days of buying it. You get a full refund and you don't need to give a reason.
The nine questions to ask yourself before you sign up.
Do I need an SAP system to follow the course?
To watch the lessons, no: everything is shown on screen. To redo the steps, you need an SAP system where these tools are open to your profile. No system comes with the micro-training.
What level do I need?
Knowing how to run a transaction in SAP is enough to start: the course begins with the definition of Batch Input. Some notion of programming helps for the SHDB chapter, which generates and then adapts a program.
Does this course replace a migration project?
No. You learn to use the tools on cases shown on screen and to choose the one that fits. Scoping a complete migration project, with its schedule and cutover, is not covered.
How long does it take to finish?
The 39 videos add up to 5 h 06. Plan for more with the texts and the quizzes, and more still if you redo each step on a system. You go at your own pace.
Is the course available in French?
Yes. This page is for the English version: videos in English with English subtitles. The French version has its own page, on the French site.
How long do I have access?
For life. You can come back to a lesson the day you need it. Access covers the course content, not an SAP system.
Can I ask a question while I follow the course?
Yes, by email: just reply to the email that gives you access. This micro-training includes no live session and no one-to-one coaching.
What if the course isn't right for me?
You have a 14-day money-back guarantee, counted from the day you buy. A simple email is enough, no justification required, and we refund you in full.
Can I get an invoice for my company?
Yes. Key User Training is a training company based in Luxembourg. Just email us after you pay and we will send you an invoice in your company's name. If you need a specific reference on it (such as a purchase order number), write to us before you buy.
One file to load, one tool to do it.
The next time you are asked to load data into SAP, you will know where to start. €79, at your own pace.
