About · Key User Training

Three SAP consultants. The school we wish we'd had.

We train SAP consultants who walk into a project ready to deliver. Not with knowledge. With know-how. On paper the difference looks small. In real life it's huge.

What We Saw

Knowing SAP is easy. Knowing how to use it on a project is another story.

Most SAP training delivers content. You get the modules, the transactions, the screens explained to you. You walk away with 200 hours of video and zero confidence to start a project. Our approach starts from the expected result: being ready to deliver on day one.

SAP knowledge delivered flat

  • Courses that pile up modules with no real progression, the hardest part first.
  • Videos watched passively, never any practice on realistic data.
  • No human support, you struggle alone in front of your screen.
  • Theory disconnected from the project, no real client cases.
  • Certification in hand, then a first kickoff that falls apart.

SAP know-how built in the right order

  • A paced curriculum that lays the fundamentals before the advanced modules.
  • Guided exercises on real client cases, not textbook drills.
  • Weekly Q&A with a coach who answers and points you in the right direction personally.
  • Downloadable documents (specs, test plans, blueprints) ready to reuse on a project.
  • Ready to deliver: the confidence to start, the functional vocabulary, the right reflexes.
Act 1 · Origin Story

Michael: eight years searching before SAP.

"My rule: I never train on a topic I haven't already lived through, gotten wrong, or fixed on a project."

It took Michael eight years to find SAP. And that long road is exactly what shaped how he teaches.

Maintenance methods planner, team lead, maintenance methods manager: eight years looking for a career that truly fit. Solid training, a fast learner, hard work, but always the feeling that something was missing.

What he was looking for:

  • More passion in his career
  • More professional recognition
  • A better salary
  • A better work/life balance
  • Flexible hours
  • A multicultural environment

His first real taste of SAP came in 2018, as a key user on an implementation project on the maintenance side: SAP ticked every one of those boxes. In 2020, he officially moved into consulting. Six years later, he's a certified SAP EWM consultant specialized in Supply Chain and S/4HANA architecture, a trainer, and an author at Espresso Tutorials.

Act 2 · Origin Story

Pierre: a young engineer looking for a path.

"A junior consultant doesn't need to know everything. They need to know what to look for, where, and who to ask."

Pierre came to Key User Training through an SAP project he shared with Michael. That meeting laid the technical foundations of the school.

Fresh out of engineering school, Pierre faced the dilemma so many young graduates know: a solid education but a career path still unclear. He was looking for a field where he could combine his passion for technology with his need for a role that meant something.

He and Michael met on an SAP project. An engineer in the making on one side, an experienced consultant on the other. But above all: the same standards on technical quality, and the same instinct about what was missing from the training out there.

Today Pierre is a certified SAP PP and EAM consultant, an MES expert, and an SAP project manager on complex industrial projects (production, maintenance, manufacturing) for European clients. He authors the technical manufacturing content at Key User Training and at Espresso Tutorials.

Origin Story · Act 3

The shared realization that became Key User Training.

We noticed the same thing on our projects: plenty of companies needed to train their teams on SAP, but few training options matched what they actually needed. The content out there was too theoretical, not practical enough, and didn't really prepare people for the job of consultant or key user.

In 2022, we decided to start Key User Training. Our conviction fit in a single sentence, which became our tagline.

"We put things back in the right order."

Today we train close to 50 career changers a year to become SAP consultants, plus several hundred more learners through short courses, one-on-one consultations, and ongoing support. XiaoXiao Liu joined the team to lead our international content and our teaching in English.

Our Approach

Four principles we won't let go of.

If we can't honor one of these four principles on a given course, we don't run it. That's what kept us from scaling too fast, and it's why our learner feedback is so consistent.

Structured

Every module has its place in a deliberate progression. You don't get dropped into SAP BTP before you understand S/4HANA architecture. We put the topics back in the right order, and that's what makes them stick.

Human

No bots, no scripted chatbot. A real person reads your message, routes it to the right coach, and answers with a personal opinion. When you're stuck, there's someone on the other side.

Employability

We don't train you to check boxes on a resume. We train you to feel confident on the first day of a project. The difference shows in interviews and at kickoff. That's our real KPI.

Honesty

We don't promise "SAP expert in 21 days" because that doesn't exist. We tell you what works, what takes time, and what you're going to have to grind through. No magic, no shortcuts, no lies.

The Team

Three people behind the school we wish we'd had.

No anonymous investors. No venture capital. Two co-founders still working on projects who teach what they practice, while they practice it. And a trainer who leads our content internationally.
